British 8th Army heavy mortar team (Western Desert)
The primary model of heavy mortar fielded by British and Commonwealth troops during World War II was the Ordnance ML 4.2-inch mortar. First seeing action during the Second Battle of El Alamein in late 1942 before being put to good use in other theatres of the war and post-war during the Korean War and on into the 1960s.
Contains one metal gun and four crew, with plastic 60mm round lipped base.
